I thought it would take a couple of months for my first BJD (ball-jointed doll) to show up.
I got the email this evening - he has been shipped! It only took exactly one week from order to ship! This means I will have Shuichi for his birthday after all.
I have been holding my sternum, while trying to get a few shots of some of the 'family' members who have just found out someone new is going to be invading the space. Didn't have the energy to get the various Barbies out for photos.

It is NICE to have a digital camera! I was able to shoot, send to one computer then network to the main one and grab pics, adjust, add text and have it done is about five minutes. Being able to sit up for five minutes at a time is all I can do right now, because...
In other news:
The costochondritus is BAD, folks. Went to get blood drawn Monday, told the nurse how bad I felt and my doc came in to see me almost immediately after she finished the bloodwork. The doc said he had not even pushed down before I told him it hurt. He felt the pea-sized lumps, too. I am to go see a pulmonary specialist. Damn - forgot to call for the appointment today - I have been dead meat and not thinking straight.
Didn't go to work yesterday or today; sitting up aggravates it. Only staying on my back makes me feel half-way decent. So glad I have otaku - though holding him up and typing with one finger while flat on my back is tiresome. My back hurts, too - it's the red-hot iron rod through the chest and out the back pain again, but it isn't as bad as the pain ravaging my sterum. Cannot sleep much because of the pain and the lack of sleep causes dizziness and nausea. The anti-inflamatory adds to the nausea. I am supposed to eat but the idea of food of any kind makes me turn around and leave the kitchen to go back to bed - I am just not hungry. I feel my stomach growling but it is way in the distance. The rest of me doesn't want it, even though the lack of food gives me headaches....
rat is picking up my pain killers tonight so I can add loopiness to the mix.
I HAD planned on going to bed around 10pm - then otaku started flaking out like it was doing this past weekend but this time the mouse was affected, too. I have FINALLY been able to shut it down, after:
pulled the otaku box down from the shelf too high for me to reach so I have to use a yardstick to get it
looked up the directions to fix the "NTOSKRNL.EXE missing or corrupt" problem rat had found on the web earlier
completely freaked out because the directions I had for fucking Xtra Problems (on the recover disk) said I had to have some kind of Admin code or something I would have gotten at the original setup, which I DID NOT GET because everything was installed by Dell and if I did not have it, I was up shit creek
went to Dell and got another set of directions
wake up rat and go nuts
finally figured out how to get to setup so we could point to just the CD for bootup (and turn off all the other things because it kept going for them - stoopid microsoft)
had to figure out the "NTOSKRNL.EXE missing or corrupt" fix, which included another website entirely
did the "NTOSKRNL.EXE missing or corrupt" fix, which did not work
tried the Dell instructions, which were not thorough
otaku finally recognized the CD so it started running (rat went back to bed)
the mouse still would not work and nothing on the recover CD could be found to fix
dug through the box and found a driver CD, which said nothing about mouse drivers but tried it anyway
the CD actually worked - shock of shocks - and the mouse worked again instead of being spastic
shut down otaku and hopes for the best
It's fucking almost 2:30am in the morning.
Oh, rat's procedure went fine. My mother took him to her house and 'mothered' him there with soft foods and a nap. (jeeze!) The four of us went to Black-Eyed Pea for dinner because they have non-spicy choices he could eat. It has been very funny listening to his intestine kicking back into gear, all the way across the room.
I am absolutely dead and my chest hurts again. I am going to bed.
rat is going in Tuesday morning (tomorrow) for a colonoscopy (sp) - no, he is okay - the doc just wants to check his health inside to confirm the man is a healthy horse. I am taking him to the hospital in the morning and my mother is picking him up afterward. This means rat is having to drink the nasty shit to clean himself out and his diet has been limited to stuff neither one of us eat. I have found this a little humourous - I am usually the one having to go through this type of procedure. They will be knocking him out so I gave him some tips about what will happen when they wheel him in to the operating room and when he wakes up.
The last time I had to go in for day surgery I was on the rag at the time and told the surgeon he better get me in and out quickly because I was in stuck pig mode. I was a training person - a bunch of interns would watch the procedure. I was kinda sad I was not able to talk to them a little prior to the procedure; I am one of those people who likes to chat with the hospital staff and docs when I am stuck in the hospital. I am not just a body needing help - I am a person, and I like making that connection with the people who are going to be working on this rickety machine I am stuck in right now.
When I woke up, the male nurse asked me if I was okay. I had a little pain where they had taken out the lump in my breast but what was really killing me was the severe cramps. The guy was great - he immediately offered a pain med, shot me up and all the pain went away but I was still wide awake and not stupid.
Run, don't walk to your local Borders and purchase this great book - at $7.99 it is a bargain and the photos are GREAT! It shows many of the foodstuffs used for Japanese cooking and EXPLAINS them, too! It is going to be wonderful resource for my writing!
Joules - the package still has not arrived. I checked with the office today - nada. We will be going to the post office on Saturday to see if something is floating around there.
Aja - the FMA disks HAVE arrived! Thank you! I checked out a little of the first ep when I got home from the doc and before I fell asleep - interesting hearing their real voices for the first time. I cannot look at them until AFTER I get your beta done and some comments to Ashcat.
Talon - I got your voicemail this morning. Maybe we can talk to each other this weekend.
Had to leave work at noon yesterday - headache to the point of nausea. Took pain killer, ate lunch then passed out until the phone woke me at 4pm. Passed out again until rat got home.
Next week is Spring Break. The campus is open Monday-Thursday and closed Friday-Sunday.
Monday, I am supposed to get bloodwork done and the timesheets are due.
Tuesday, the Summer bookorder is due.
I am taking off Wednesday and Thursday off to write. Wednesday I have a doc appt, unless things change again.
I still have a fever. My neck and spine still hurt but not as badly as before. I am getting a headache every day again. the middle of my chest feels like something is squeezing it - after-effect from singing in the car last week. That's why I am having to take pain killers again. At one point I was wondering if I was having acid reflux or a heart attack.
My intestines are going crazy, probably because of the apple allergy.
My sinuses are causing havoc - the weather here goes back and forth from 80 degrees to 60 degrees so things are blooming early.
I am off prednizone.
I am not so ravenous anymore, which helps. When I want salty snacks, I pour salt into my hand and eat that instead of chips. I am eating fruit, including the apples I am allergic to, and while that is wrecking me some. I am living with it to deal with the hunger. I eat salad with my TV dinner at lunch. I eat a LOT of kosher dill pickles, like one to two jars a week.
I need to get my eyes checked.
I need to lose the weight I have gained from this crap.

The face is embroidered instead of being a decal like some of my older, Japanese plushies. The only other US plushies I have are a Kyo and a Sesshoumaru, both with embroidered faces. Oh, I am wrong - the Shigure is also US and it has an iron-on face.
